It's All Your Fault
16-24 year old women are more likely to be victims of sexual violence than any other age group.
Yet these victims will likely be told the same thing:
- ‘You should have known better’
- Your skirt was too short’
- ‘You were drunk’
- ‘You were leading him on’
- ‘You invited him back to your room’
But what if we flipped the script?
What if, instead of questioning the victim, we held the perpetrator accountable?
Because no one chooses to be groomed, assaulted, or raped.
But perpetrators do choose to commit these acts.
Combining personal testimony with up-to-date statistics, Keeley Brennan explores the often-overlooked reality of grooming and sexual assault targeting older teens.
It’s All Your Fault challenges the stereotypes surrounding survivors of sexual violence and highlights the importance of raising awareness about the hidden tactics of groomers. Readers will be dared to see the world from a survivor’s eyes and asked what we can all do to make a difference.
